In today’s world, driven by dynamic change and technological advances, it is easy to forget that the key to success lies not just in innovative products and services, but in the people who create and deliver them. Echo Analytics, as a licensed Insights Discovery partner, is committed to developing the self-awareness of employees.

Today, technology and capital are more easily accessible than ever, so people are becoming the greatest source of competitive advantage. When creating a team of employees, we tend to focus solely on a person’s experience, knowledge and professional achievements already during recruitment. We rarely ask about strengths and weaknesses, and assess the potential arising from personality. And even if we do ask, we may not always get a reliable answer. This issue is not a result of the candidate’s insincerity but often stems from… a lack of self-awareness. Self-awareness is crucial for both personal and professional development, forming the foundation for effective implementation of business strategies. It fosters increased efficiency, drives innovation, and enhances job satisfaction.

People are different. It’s up to you what you do about it

Carl G. Jung’s theory of personality types is considered one of the fundamental theories concerning modern personality psychology. It is based on the idea that people differ in their ways of perceiving the world and making decisions. Jung not only divided people into two basic groups: extroverts and introverts, but also distinguished four basic mental functions, divided into two pairs: cognitive functions (perception and intuition) and decision-making functions (thinking and feeling). Jung’s theory assumes that each person has one dominant function and an accompanying secondary function that define how they think, feel and act. Combined with a predominance of extraversion or introversion, this can give as many as eight different personality types. This knowledge has already been applied for years in the context of personal and professional development and allows people to better understand themselves and work with others, which makes usage of this knowledge in human resources management reasonable. For years, the international organisation Insights Discovery has been providing psychometric tools to develop people’s self-awareness, while also sharing knowledge on how to put human potential into practice in business.

Self-awareness in the workplace

Emotional intelligence is mainly based on self-awareness. The ability to recognise and understand our own emotions, thoughts and behaviour enables better stress management, informed decision-making and effective communication with others. Teams consisting of such employees are characterised by better cooperation and greater openness which results in faster process improvement and solution-finding. Companies that prioritise employee development, not only offering support but also acknowledging efforts, deserve to be called responsible employers.

Gamification and Business Intelligence in modern company

When combined, these two elements can effectively enhance employees’ self-awareness, encouraging them to reflect on their actions, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and make more informed decisions about their personal growth. Through gamification, employees receive personalized goals, missions, and rewards tailored to their needs. Continuous feedback, supported by Business Intelligence, simplifies the process of reflecting on one’s performance. Additionally, tracking progress – whether personal, team-based, or company-wide – helps employees understand how their efforts impact overall development and what steps are needed to achieve KPIs. These principles form the foundation of Echo Analytics, where we believe that individual development directly influences business outcomes. Check out our DEMO to see for yourself.
